At cross purposes?

Had this passed along to me by my bro-in-law. Wish I'd written it myself.

As they were herding Jesus toward his crucifixion, he had a feeling that he was not the first to go this way. His suspicions were confirmed as he gazed off to the side of the road and noticed a sign:

CAUTION

HEAVY CROSS TRAFFIC

Perhaps we ought to have this sign posted in our churches.

Perhaps not . . .
