Let he who is without sin...

This has to be my favorite response to Jesus comment in John 8:7, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Well, actually, it's my second favorite. My favorite goes something like, "And Jesus picked up a stone and said to the woman, "I'll give you a ten-second head start."

I would have posted yesterday, but I got hung up here most of yesterday. The fellow who originated the site had heard some years back that the Old Testament contained 300 Messianic references. However, he could find no list of these anywhere. (I had read this as well. Josh McDowell states this in the classic, Evidence That Demands A Verdict, in his chapter on messianic prophecy. He doesn't cite his assertion there, either. Blessings on the head of anyone that knows where this originated.) So, he cracked open the Scriptures and came up with his own list of 300. They're categorized by topic and Bible book. I'm not sure I buy all of his items listed as actual prophecies, but it's well worth at least a cursory glance.

Supposed to get up to a foot of snow over the next two days here. We shall see. Right now, it's just been rain. Thank you, Lord, for washing my car!

Listening to: "Jingle All The Ways," over 30 versions of "Jingle Bells" It would probably be useful for dispelling rioters in shopping centers.

If only people had the courage to claim their sins in such a way.

This reminds me of what I used to say regarding the claim that AIDS was God's punishment for homosexuality. I said, "No, AIDS is God's test for judgmental people."

My favorite sin is coveting my neighbor's humility.
Also making jokes about serious issues to avoid legitimate introspection.
