New Church Term Coined

"Ho-rise-on" (pronounced like "horizon")

When everyone in a worship service is seated while singing, and a few people decide to stand up, the ho-rise-on is the percentage of people in the crowd that stand up before the worship leader says, "Let's all stand and sing!"

Mine is a popcorn congregation: when at the end of the sermon the preacher begins the invitation, you'll always see one person on the other side stand up, look around in uncertainty, and sit back down just as somebody two rows ahead does the same thing, etc., until somebody from the worship team (usually me) has pity on them, stands up, and stays standing.

See now... this is one slight advantage of being Catholic... Plus it freaks out visitors!

But then, we have still have those people who stay kneeling the whole time. Kindly what do you call those?

That is a poser...

"Kneelists" (nihilists)?
"Kneel-Conservatives"?
"Genu-inflexible"?
"Arthritic"?

Thanks, I think like "Kneel-Conservatives" the best... ^_^

BTW, my blog lives now. Mind stopping by for a visit?
