I guess I just don't get it

The last couple years, at this time of year, I've been creating the tradition at Cornland C.C. of a Jesus Birthday cake. I get a sheet cake decorated with "Happy Birthday Jesus" to be served with coffee, cookies, nog and hot cider after the church service.

How many candles on his cake? you may well ask.

Some joker there on Sunday did.

I suggested that he only needed 33, since birthdays didn't get counted in eternity. Then it occurred to me:

Five candles!

No one else seemed particularly impressed by my Advent Cake idea.

I guess I just don't get it.
