Helpful animation for Sukkot-celebrants

To be sure, if you follow the Jewish calendar, you know Rosh-Hashannah, (the new year) starts this Thursday. Additionally, the holiest day on the calendar, Yom Kippur, is the 18th.

Still, I look forward to Sukkot. I'm gonna try for an actual outdoor sukkah this year, and invite everyone for a barbecue. (No pork, shrimp or lobster!)

You can read up on the holiday and its observance here.

What I love is that Jewfaq.org has now added a little gif to demonstrate to goy-brains like myself just how the lulav and etrog are to be waved!

What would happen if some poor schlep wanted a cheeseburger? :-?

Well, if they chose to eat their beef with dairy, I suppose I couldn't technically prevent them...
Then again, I question the Scriptural authority of that particular tradition. Just because God commands you don't boil a kid in its mother's milk--that's no good reason to avoid cheeseburgers.
On the other hand, if you feel strongly about keeping that "command," I'll certainly respect that.

Well, I love cheeseburgers.... Ah, nuts, Veggie Tales earworm coming on!

I'm just curious about how others observe their faith. (Perhaps too curious?) Thanks for the info. :) Your perspective is valuable to me.

He said to her, I'd like a cheeseburger, and I might like a milkshake as well! She said to him I can't give you either; and he said Isn't this Burger Bell?

I'm not particularly observant of kosher laws or Judaism as a whole. I like bacon cheeseburgers, m'self. But if we're gonna celebrate the holyday, it seems only just to try and keep kosher for those moments--in keeping with the season.
MY concern is to point to the larger meaning BEHIND the holydays--and so broaden and deepen my (our) commitment to and worship of Him.
And who doesn't love a cookout?!
Thanks for your interest. I'll try to post relevant pics when the time comes.

Still trying to decide if I want to attempt camping out that week.
