(Weird) American Dreams

In a dream I had last night, I saw John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Lightning Hopkins. They had set down their respective instruments and were looking at me. Their eyes (the ones not behind dark glasses, that is) were wide and vacant. Furthermore, instead of a frown or scowl like one would expect from these classic blues musicians, they wore wide grins--white teeth shining in the darkness of the nightclub that they were all sitting in.

As they stood there, something even more peculiar began to happen. Thick, matted fur began to sprout from their collars and the cuffs of their shirts! It grew longer and longer until the men's faces and hands were completely obscured by Cookie Monster-blue fur! Like shaggy scarecrows, they took up their instruments again (except for the pianists, they merely sat back down at the keyboard again) and began to play a song that still haunts me to this moment.

Blues guys, smilin' at me. Nothin' but blues guys, do I see.
Blue furs, singin' a song. Nothin' but blue furs, from now on.

And the moral of the story? No more jalapeno-and-anchovy pizza before bed!

Humor-blogs.com, smilin' at me...

Two things...first, expect a visit from the ghost of Irving Berlin and second, how the hell do they get those little anchovies to eat those jalapenos?

drive-by,
Irving stopped by last night. He showed me a vision of torch songs past.
As for how they get the anchovies to eat the jalapenos: They threaten them with pun-ishment.

I saw Muddy Waters perform live in a bar many years ago. The man was absolutely incredible and so much better in person than on his albums.

That's reason enough for me to stock up on anchovies.
