The Savior? Soitenly!


Jerome “Curly” Howard plays the Samaritan ex-leper who returned to give thanks (Luke 17:12-19) in the 1938 comical Bible epic “King of Kings (and a Pair of Aces.)”

“T’anks for the clean-up job, Big-J! How about that? I guess a leper can change his spots! Now I’m just a big pussycat! Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!”

Then, in an outtake:
“How do ya' like that?” quips Curly. “Even in a Bible picture, a Jew is playing a goyim!”
