Thanks to the exceedingly early date of Resurrection Sunday (in the western church, anyway) this year, Pentecost and Mother's Day fall on the same Sunday this year! Uuurrgh!
So... next Sunday:
We celebrate the birth of Mother Church?
Mom says, "Don't take that tone of voice with me when you're speaking in another language!"
Mom says: "3,000 baptized! At least they took a bath!"
3,000 baptized--and all of them had mothers!
Mothers: the source of world evangelists!
Mom says: "Don't lie to your mother, Simon! I'll bet you and your friends really are drunk!"
Mom says: "That's fine, but take your Holy Spirit and go play outside!"

At Cornland, we're compromising thusly--Pentecost this Sunday (a week early) and Mother's Day on the 11th. We still might do a service based around Shavuot (Pentecost) when it comes up later in the Jewish calendar.
