Each whale is a small styrofoam coffee cup wrapped with a strip of paper -- a standard 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of paper split in half length-wise. At the top of each strip was typed the lesson's Bible memory verse. We glued the paper to the cup. The bottom edges were pinched together and scotch-taped for a tail, along with the end of the yarn. Jonah is an inch by 1.5 inches.
Grasp the cup firmly and try to get the whale to swallow Jonah. Then, you can also make him URP! him back up onto the "beach," just like in the story!
